I. Our Statement of Purpose

Hope Chapel Pearlview exists to equip God's people to be effective witnesses of Jesus Christ to people in the world that we live. This is accomplished as we honor God, honor ourselves, honor people in the church, and honor those who are unsaved.

A. Effective witnesses of Jesus Christ: A life that presents evidence that they belong to Christ.

B. If Christ is truly the Head of the church He will operate His body properly. (Ephesians 4:11-16)

1. The foundation of correct doctrine. (Ephesians 2:19-20)

2. Evangelists: The ones who took the gospel abroad.

3. Shepherds and teachers: Those who remain with the local body.

C. The church is not to be self-promoting but seek to glorify Christ. (John 7:18)

D. We are to operate according to the power of the Holy Spirit: (Acts 1:8)

III. Our Strategy

A. Our Church Services: Our weekend church celebrations provide a time of worship, sound biblical teaching in a setting of community, and fosters unity and a sense of purpose.

B. MiniChurch: Midweek gathering in various homes, led by trained lay-leaders. The groups are purposely small (8-10 people), allowing maximum interaction, growth in understanding the Bible, prayer, and the discovery and utilization of your spiritual gifts.

C. Team Hope: Opportunities to actively serve the Lord in ministry at our weekend church services as well as throughout the week.

IV. Our Values

A. We believe that every effective witness of Jesus Christ is good, competent, and knowledgeable. (Romans 15:14-15)

1. God gives the believer a new heart.

2. A heart that is open to continuous instruction of the Scripture as they grow.

B. We believe that developing godly relationships is a biblical way to learn and to grow.

(Ephesians 3:6, 20-21)

1. Jews and Gentiles: The most unlikely association.

2. A sign of change and growth: Loving others who are different from you.

C. We believe that everyone who is in Christ has something to share. (1 Corinthians 14:26)

1. The purpose of our small group meetings is not to become a 'social club.'

2. The biblical elements used to build one another up.

D. We believe that every true believer has been gifted by God to serve Him in both the local church and the world. (Ephesians 2:10)

1. 'Walk' or live your life in Him and you will encounter these planned 'good works'.

2. God prepared plans for others to be saved just like you.

E. We believe that the true believer learns by doing. (Matthew 7:24-25)

1. Head-knowledge of God's Word plus obedience.

2. We learn significantly when we learn and grow to benefit others.
